Project 365: Day 62 - A box of ideas.

Just a look at whats inside my toolbox.

Cork! I make it a point to keep cork from wine and cork scrapscast off from whole sheet. They're very usueful for bases and terrain.
My chaotic toolbox.
I've been way behind on this blog. By my count I'm behind by 11(?) days. Thats not good :p

Again, as I often do, I wont dwell on the cause of delay but rather take the time to refocus myself and my goals for the community and with this blog:

A hobby blog with comprehensive information on where to find tools, supplies and what to substitute for things you can't find this side of the world.

I'm not going to change the minds of the vets nor will i be offering anything revolutionary to the art and the minis community in the Philippines. What I will do though is attempt to make the process of getting started easier and to give those who are getting into the hobby a chance to avoid the pitfalls that I myself and a lot of others have fallen into.

Organize a Miniature Figure Painters Gathering

Discussions can be found in the MWPH Forum

If you have any ideas or are willing to contribute or just want to pop in to see whats going on please dont hesitate to click the link above.

Those are two of the main goals I have for the next quarter if the year. I hope I can get some of it rolling and if  I can manage to do that then the rest of the year is looking exciting indeed.

Laters.

Project 365: Day 44 - I'm way behind on this blog

I swear I'm not neglecting this blog. I'm just getting some things out of the way, also I dont have a camera to take pics for the update. Once I solve those problems though, I'll be updating this mofo fo sho! ... good gravy I feel dirty for saying that.

In the meantime, here's something i stumbled upon. Now normally, I wont be watching these kind of videos and the voice alone made me want to stab an xacto into my ear...but a minute in and it turned golden :)

enjoy

Project 365: Day 40 - Lost the wind in my sails

It's been quiet here lately and I mean to fix that.

This post was supposed to explain the reasons behind the delay but thought better of it. You can't fight negativity with negativity.

Battle Reports, painting updates and more soon.

Project 365: Day 31 - A Retrospective and Throwing a Light into the Future

I really need to shorten my titles.

This is my 31st post on Project 365. I'm ending a month. I've actually had enough of an attention span to actually get something done for more than a week straight.

Now I will be the first to admit that I didnt have a perfect posting record for this month (check title, check date, for those who werent paying attention) due to some circumstances, some avoidable and some not. But regardless, I was able to stick to this blog for the first month without my attention flagging.

This blog, which started as a way to keep me motivated on my hobby-related stuff turned out into a hobby of its own. This blog has actually started eating into my my hobby time! Didn't see that one coming. Insert witty comment here, tack snide remark there.

Looking back at January I was able to cover some of the stuff I like doing. I've posted about games and local gaming events, I've gone out to eat at places I've never been to. I've posted some old "work in progress" stuff. I've gotten some positive and constructive feedback from the folks who've read up on the blog. Even with the amateurishness of this blog, I honestly believe I'm on to something worthwhile :) This blog has sparked a renewed vigor in the stuff that I already do, and is also inspiring me to get more experiences out there.

So what's in store for February?  Here are some of the things I have in mind for the month and beyond:

- FOOD! Roxane and I have been talking about trying out some places to eat in Binondo. I will definitely try to schedule a Binondo romp within the month :D budget permitting.

- Painting Miniatures! I recently got myself a Druid Wilder as a new addition to my army. I plan on posting a progress report on this mini as well as other pieces from my backlog  :)

- Gaming! With an upcoming Warmachine/ Hordes League and freer weekends I plan to give more detailed Battle and Event Reports in the future. I also plan on helping Kim with the WMH Philippines Club in any way I can.

- Terrain! I've always talked about contributing terrain pieces to Fortress. This would be a good time to cross that off my to-do list.

- Doodles! I want to draw more and I'll be posting more doodles and artwork in the future

I've got one month down and I have 11 more to go and a lot of stuff to get done :)

Right! lets do this :D

Project 365: Day 23 - Doodles! Logo redesign

Testing a logo redesign for the blog. Will add in the text later.

What do you think?

edit: This is supposed to have a transparent background not a black one. Anyone know how to fix this?

edit: There I figured it out.

Project 365: Day 18 - Inspiration and Direction

At times when I get tired of trawling the interwebs for memes and hobby-related stuff I usually go to Http://www.Ted.com and I take a listen. You got some of the best and brightest of the world, and even some people like you and me talk about extraordinary stuff. It really is inspiring, humbling and encourages introspection.

After a quarter hour of listening to some of these people I often find myself asking "What have you ever done?"

this sometimes reduces me into a whimpering quivering mass of useless flesh in a fetal position

anyhoo one of the talks that stick most in my mind is this:

Project 365: Day 14 - Running out of steam...

So the search for the camera charger continues. I might resort to just borrowing Roxane's digicam for some of the stuff i plan to do :(

...and I have to admit I'm kinda running out of steam.

The good thing though is that this feeling was fleeting. Hopefully I wouldn't encounter that drained feeling again for some time. While I was typing this article I actually felt the fatigue of the day fade away and in it's place was the excitement for some of the stuff I plan to do.

I'm looking to post more doodles, put up some more modeling logs and go on more food adventures with Roxane. I have a lot planned for this blog and I think I'm on to something good. For now mainly it's something good for me as it has given me my second wind creativity wise. In the future, for my current (all 3 of you...) and future readers I hope what I have in this blog will be something good for you as well.

Stay tuned.
